Ancestral Threads S/S 23
Unconventional silhouettes that seem to materialize from other worlds and gravity systems, yet immediately make us feel anchored to our ancestral ties and wisdoms. They bloom out of paths that transcend into our lives yet come from where our lives derive from. Forms of the future that are so close to our forgotten past. They are so modern that they can only have been developed across multiple planes of existence from which only the designer has found the connection to generate them in a blink, through her symbiosis with Nature, that she connects via her magical threads.
This collection manages to interpret and connect us with this magical kingdom through weaving silk and cotton threads on handlooms of Rajasthan (Kota Doriya technique), Karnataka (Khunn), West Bengal (silk by silk), Uttar Pradesh (Banarasi brocade), and mold them with our proprietary cording technique and textures. Summer is about colors and fun, thus the collection sprinkles in a multicolor palette from whites, off whites, mustards, yellow, pinks, burgundy, green, and black.
